GROW is an inclusive arts mentorship programme by Superhero Me. GROW aims to expose artists to the practice of collaborative creative projects with children from The Rainbow Centre community. journeyed through Superhero Me’s framework of inclusive arts.

In 2024, Superhero Me partnered with Rainbow Centre Margaret Drive and I was invited back to work with class J2P at Rainbow Centre Margaret Drive for GROW. This was a step up and a challenge from working one-on-one with Amos at his home last year, as we typically only have a few sessions with the kids.

My desire was to allow their individuality and also their identity as a class to shine through in this short video, in a process where the children express their individual quirks and interests. The theme is: ‘SuperheroMe, SuperheroUs!’.  We explored storytelling, dancing, and even sharks! More is yet to be written about this zany and fun few sessions with J2P.

Special thanks to the Superhero Me Captains and especially Teacher Nas who was an incredible source of support and fun
